That’s true, but you can intercept the signal from the headphone jack and record it DRM free. If the signal is digital up until the point it comes out of the speaker it is much harder to capture.

Save your old toilet paper and paper towel rolls. Wrap your cord like the "Alternating Coil Wrap" and then stick them in the tubes. You can cut down the tubes for smaller cables if you need.
