Unless you live somewhere where legit the road is covered in snow and ice for months at a time, do NOT buy studded winter tires. They tear up the roads and provide LESS traction (i.e. longer braking distances) when not on snow and ice. And modern winter tires exceed their performance.

Laugh if you want but in the real world an all season tire with less grip is far more fun than a bonkers, balls-to-the-wall summer tire.
