No you’re not too late.  Thanks for offering the contrary opinion.  I have lots of respect for Heather’s tastes, but after reading some other comments and some review blurbs on meracritic, it seems clear that I would not enjoy the game as much as I loved Breath of the Wild.  I’ll probably download DD when it goes on

Sekiro was my favorite game this year by far.  Why does it matter that it launched in March?

Darwin is THE SHIT.

Holy shit, best open-world game you’ve ever played?? I need to see what that game is all about, as I, too, have never played Dragon’s Dogma. Would love to play another great 3D open-world game on Switch, too, as the last one I played was Breath of the Wild.

Also, that got real dark when you started playing the “death march” (Chopin’s Piano Sonata no. 2, 2nd mvt.) under you talking about being 50.

Cool list. Ironically though, the list felt like a lot like the game I am most disappointed not to see on it: NieR: Automata. Which is a very NieR: Automata thing to pull. But your list felt like it ended several times, and I was fooled on more than one occasion into thinking I was watching the end. Just like NieR:

Wow hard disagree on this one, Luke. That pixelated Pikachu will just look like a yellow splotch to anyone who is not at eye-level with your feet. And who wants plain white sneakers?? Other than yuppies who play tennis at the country club (yes, I know I’m dating myself with that image), I do not understand why

Peanut butter does go with anything.

Well since they used to work there and presumably still have some good relationships, they could courteously reach out and request that they use that branding on something that is not a killing machine.

Why is the pro controller “mediocre” by console standards?  IMO It’s the best controller ever, and I really can’t see how it is deficient relative to a PS4 or Xbone controller, neither of which have as good a D-pad as the pro controller.  Plus the Xbone controller is too heavy, and the PS4 controller isn’t ideally

I had a couple of these but for the life of me I can’t remember which ones.

Yes, I agree with all of that (though I haven’t played the Trails series). EXCEPT I think if you had gotten deeper into the story, than the characters would feel more interesting and less trope-y. Also I have been using the Japanese voice acting, so maybe if you were playing with the English dialogue track, the

Hooray for Yacht Club Games! And congratulations to the entire game, for a franchise that will forever be known for perfecting the retro indie game formula, and for being one of the biggest unqualified success stories on Kickstarter! I’m proud to have been a backer.

I agree with A Plucky Mushroom: This is, and should be, a celebration of developers who fulfilled all of their promises to their backers, and delivered an incredible product at the same time. I was a Kickstarter backer, and I had no problems at all with the delays in the DLC, since they were both free and amazing.

Here’s the thing about Dragon Quest: It’s the only franchise I can think of that has never really evolved at all and that’s how the fans like it. I have only ever played the first three games in the series, on iOS after I broke my thumb the day Shadow of Mordor came out. But I did play Dragon Warrior (western name

Holy shit I hope that’s true.  The only difference I can see is the new one looks older, and I’m not sure why that matters to anyone.

More Dragon Quest XI S. I’m firmly into the second half of the game right now. I was just starting to lose my momentum with it, but past the halfway point I’ve regained my drive to power up my characters and see through to the end of the story. It is long, but it is very well-paced.

My condolences to you and your family as well. Here’s hoping you get some time to yourself this weekend to relax with some gaming.

It is, but I always get a good chuckle out of a “for fuck’s sake”, so thanks for that.

Nintendo is making games like they always did. Smash Ultimate, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, and Link’s Awakening are all fantastic games, and pretty similar to the games that came before. I haven’t play the new Pokémons, or any Pokémon, but I think people say the same thing about those games.
