Amen!

Great piece. I started watching NASCAR about 20 years ago and I witnessed it’s ridiculous growth. My season tickets in Dover went from $45 to $95 in three years for below average seats. My thoughts, probably shared by many, is that NASCAR is chasing that popularity and every move it’s made has done nothing short of

I’m not arguing with you about “you either are or you aren’t” (I agree) but the 10 year rule allows the writers to space out the inductees so you don’t have 8 guys getting in a year making the Induction Weekend a nightmare.

I consider him the Joe Namath of baseball. If you look at Joe Namath’s career statistics, they aren’t “out of this world”, but he won a championship. Schilling started too late to be a compiler like Mussina, but he was in the spotlight and performed well when he was there.

I don’t find Greenberg compelling without Golic. I have no desire to watch Greenberg build soapboxes for himself to stand upon them.

I think these guys are not about success on the field or financial success, they are all about “value”. Will the Chargers be more “valuable” if they move to LA? Chances are, the answer is “yes”. That’s all these cats, especially the real estate developer types, are all about.

Dumb question: As opposed to throwing a second franchise that no one wants in LA, why isn’t Portland Oregon ever considered as an alternative? I’m not from the West Coast, but just looking at the population, it’s on par with Denver and Las Vegas. I don’t know. Everything I keep seeing about the Chargers spells doom
