For $30, you can pick up this guy that has USB and AUX input on the front face. The description even says it has an SD slot, which I believe is hidden behind the face plate. Note that it is not a CD player. If you need that you could step up to this one for $50.

Seems like that would cause one hell of a racket every time you open and close that door. Probably the only thing keeping me from jumping on this.

I certainly love Chrome on the desktop, but it would take a lot to move me away from Atomic on my iOS devices. The syncing would be tempting, but it's nice having ad block, which they couldn't really get away with, and access to save to Dropbox, which I doubt they'd add over their own services.

I've been doing this on my own for a while now. No pretty web interface, but I have a lot more control, and I don't have to worry about a 3rd party handling things for me.

If you're on the level of running your own home server, than might I suggest something like Linode? I know it's a monthly fee, but it's terribly fun and useful. And you don't have to worry about any home router reconfiguration or worries about running "server" type operations that your ISP might have a word or two to

You can get purchased locks keyed to an existing key. We had ours keyed to my existing building master key.

I would assume the major issue with that would be the effort involved in getting whatever mechanism you construct into place correctly. Since this is your office, it's hard to tell exactly what kind of wall and door jam you're dealing with, if you've got an adjacent window, or what type of lines might be running in

We use a lock similar to this one which has the ability to add a remote switch like you're interested in. Very easy to wire, and we didn't have to rely on our own craftsmanship.

in the iPone app, "star" each file and it will cache it locally on the device. You can do this quickly for multiple files. Then, when you want to transfer them to other apps, it will go much quicker since they're already local.

AS an IT admin, there is nothing I can't prevent from happening to some, usually large, degree. And for those that I can't for whatever reason, we do have an acceptable use policy that fills in the gaps.

Uh. The link to images.google.com actually goes to TinyEye?

I don't have the resources in front of me, but this seems a bit over complicated. Screw it, I'll remote in to work and try a few things.

Wow. You fucked yourselves into this mess by buying that early unit, and now you're openly offering to pay for coverage you can't get on your own.

@thinkthis: When it's your only option, you've got to put a positive spin on it to feel good. I'm sure that's what they tell themselves these days.

Anyone know of a way to increase the size of the scroll bar in Firefox?

Monoprice for all my cable and related needs.

It's hard to consider something besides Dropbox. Not that it's perfect, but Dropbox already works across Mac, Windows, Linux and even has an iPhone specific web interface that's not bad at all.

So.. does the Mac couple live in an Ikea?
