My best friend has been renting his vehicles on Turo since it was called RelayRides and making genuine supplemental income from it. Yes, that behavior happens everywhere, but what I’m pointing to are those who outright run a “standing” red light or stop sign as though it didn’t exist—both motorists and cyclists. In San Diego, such behavior is ubiquitous for cyclists but quite rare for motorists.

Please no straw men and false narratives. *NO ONE* cycles at 4mph. Most people walk faster than 4mph. Cyclists on the street are typically moving at 20-25mph, and do not break that velocity by 1mph as they blow through lights and stop signs they believe shouldn’t apply to them because of their “momentum”.

They should be “cracking down” on everyone who commits moving violations in congested cities—motorists and cyclists--because when either’s violation leads to a car-bike collision, the cyclist looses.  And we’re in agreement that they should be arresting motorists whose violations lead to deaths.
