It’s not a matter of whether spoofing is allowed or not, it’s a matter of whether it’s technologically feasible to do with ease, which it is. Robocalls are already not allowed, nor is cocaine, but they both proliferate essentially unabated. There will always be bootleg spoofing apps available.

My understanding is that Verizon and T-Mobile began their 5G build-outs in major US cities earlier this year and will have them complete by mid-2019. Then, it’s just a matter of flipping a switch and 4G becomes old hat.

I’ve never understood all the carrying-on about screen notches. This doesn’t seem to effect any functionality of the phone—it’s cosmetics. The real questions I have, that seem to go unaddressed in the article, is whether it’s a captive or removable battery (I assume captive, but you never know on a phone at this tier)

The reports of the ATS’ death are greatly exaggerated ;-) It is not “dying”, it’s becoming the CT4. Whether it retains a manual option or not is up for grabs, however.

Not sure I understand what’s keeping people from stealing these and hacking them for personal use.
