Worked well in then, no airbags or steering controls.

The 1.8t is great fun. I have a mild tune and I've put an A5, Z3, and last gen 5 series to shame. Nothing to really brag about, but hey, they got beat by a wagon so I'm happy.

I completely agree with you. LOVE that line on the mk4 golf. Proof that you can make a cut line sexy and purposeful. I think the American companies still have some trouble with that.

Saw this same thing at a gas station a few days ago. Lady in a 3 series drivers over the median thing - stops, backs up - then ends up making a right out of the parking lot anyway. I was with a few other friends and all we could do was cringe in disbelief

Farthest I usually ride as a commute is 7-10 miles to work, and I always wear jeans purely for that reasoning. Granted, I'm on a bike worth a few hundred, not thousand, but if I go down for whatever reason, I want to have some kind of protection beyond spandex shorts.

Went to school for transportation design, and we had a sponsored interior project. Part of our concept was head up display, and they (engineers) told us it was too expensive, and not feasible. Being that two of us drove w-body grand prixs at the time, we had something else to say about that. If my 2000 grand prix has

I dont mind the design of this thing, but I was talking to some people about this the other day. I mean, what is the point of a small cross-over thing without FWD. The only thing they could come up with is that its higher off the ground than "my dumb wagon". I guess there can be some advantages to height, but what are

Im with you. If pulled off correctly, covered wheels can look great, and i think it totally works with this car. If i wasnt at work I'd do a quick photoshop and see what it looks like with the wheel exposed.

Exactly what ADDvanced said. You think tractor trailers havent changed much cuz the designers dont care? Its all the engineers and marketing folks that dont want to change anything. Designing for anyone can be stifling once penny pushers and engineers step in.

Well put. Even not owning a fast car, its hard for me to enjoy driving sometimes. What on earth can you possibly be talking about at 8:30am on the way to work. Please get out of the left lane, Im running a bit late and would like to at least drive the speed limit. Not to mention the blatent disreguard for any kind of

Pretty much. Our opinions about cars are the same. A woman at work told me yesterday, "I wish i hafd the 4cyl for better mileage, but i don'y believe in SUVs with a 4cyl, too much metal to move, thats why i got the V6." Well, your SUV is actually a crossover based on a car chassis, and 4cyl make more than enough power

Its also funny that people will have deep rooted opinions about cars, and how 'murica is a car counrty etc etc. But, when it comes down to it, no one wants to drive, and if they do, its a secondary task to talking, texting, reading etc.

The weirdest thing about the downtown area (to me anyway) is how empty it is. I dont feel unsafe or anything, theres just no one there. That being said, I go down a few times a month, and I love it. I always have a good time.

Yea, I have no problem with DIY, some stuff on my car is, but at least make an effort. I mean hell, he could have even left the wood plank in the front, but at least paint it blank or something. Like PooPooPlatypus said, I think he's trying to hard.

Plus you have the reliability of the toyota 4cyl, and you can drive it every day and get decent gas mileage because of the small engine and light weight. And people will always stop and stare.

There was a girl in my high school that had a 79 Ford with a Confederate Flag hand painted on the tailgate. And hand painted camo paint. And a racoon tail hanging from the rear view.

I miss the 1/1 thing, or the early 90s GM pick ups that had 3 little circles, one full, one half, and one empty for the fuel. Tried to look for a photo but couldn't find a good one.

You're right. Thats whats so great about South Park. They dont discriminate, they make fun of everybody.

Yea it doesnt look as "tough" any more. The front fascia is very smiley, and the headlights are wayy to beady eyed

+1 to have a W-Body. They always put a PT Cruiser, why not put a W-Body GTP. With a few mods those things haul ass. And yea, to not have to worry about the tranny would be great. Thats why I got rid of mine...
