Minimum wage isn’t a policy that forces employers to pay more, it is a policy that makes it illegal for vulnerable, low-skill people to work. When it was first adopted in the US, minimum wage was explicitly intended as a means of racial discrimination against African Americans.

This is exactly what Silicon Valley needs: higher density housing, new investments, and market rates. Rent control is a lousy idea.
