@SpectacleG: It's not that big of a deal for them. They are just getting the early shipment of 3DS's out in the world for all the early adopters, and let the word start to spread. After a couple months, a big titles comes out, and they are ready to send out the second big shipment.

@DreamSequence: Ok!! let's see... Go forward, left, right, hit switch, put on boots, take off boots, move, put on boots, take off boots, put on boots, take off boots, use key, put on boots, take off boots... battery dies.

@HitBit: The naming conventions don't help, either. DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, and now a 3DS. They should have went with a less similar acronym.

@ARYXANDRE: Their April Fool's Day jokes are year round, though...

@Coillscath: Ah, but that's half the fun! Here's a little tip: Don't believe anything on April 1st, and if the "joke" is still going on tomorrow, then it's probably real.

@Mlata: Naaa. No one would notice because we all are using ca.kotaku.com now. And if you are still using the original version... WHYYYYY?

@Zinger314: the whole world of warcraft website is being overrun by crabby, too xD

@mrantimatter: That's nice and all, but to Average Joe, the 3D screen really is a lot easier to market than a big fancy screen and better graphics. They will see the NGP and go, "ya that looks like the stuff on my iPhone", but the 3DS will just blow them away!

@Paradox me: The 3DS is already well on its way out the gates, so Sony had better do something quick to slow Nintendo down. If they manage to really blow us away at E3 with price and games before Zelda comes out, it may give people the necessary hesitation that Sony desperately needs.

@gurfinki: He's just referring to the absolute fact that Sony... well... has had a tendency to do a plethora of rather questionable decisions over their lengthy lifespan.

I probably ask for too much to want shooters in the vein of mid to late 90's, where games like Doom, Heretic, and Duke3D had like 20-30+ full stages packed with monsters, keys, ammo, and weapons for easily over 20 hours of game time. Hell, Unreal was, unreal. That game was so long I didn't even finish the darn thing.

@Teran: I love MMORPG's. I do not care for WoW anymore. My favorite types are the multiplayer focused games, where the little number next to your character can't go up without the help of others. WoW and its clones are basically giant roller coasters of solo quests, with maybe a little grouping here and there to get

@-MasterDex-: The first game was stuck trying to figure out if it's an old school Baldur's Gate style RPG, or one of these newfangled faster action rpg's like Mass Effect. The end result was lots of repetitive, slow fights. At least with this game, they finally picked a side. Sure, I wish they had gone with another

@diasdiem: And then we didn't have steam, or a gamestop on every corner, oh no! We had to walk 50 miles, uphill, in the snow, both ways to our nearest Toys R Us and pray they weren't sold out! AND WE LIK... ok no. that part wasn't fun.

@ThisCharmingMan: I always found that having a mage cast inferno on himself, then another mage force fielding him pretty much trivialized 95% of the content. Try that one out.

@hollowbody57: Video games are compilation of multiple people's works, from script, music, and art direction, to programming and mathematics. Naturally, a guild associated to writing expertise would want to filter out all those other silly things and focus on the material they specialize in.

@ThreeOneFive: For a gaming age where the game play is either hiding behind a 3' wall, or blindly charging in, Demon's Souls' difficulty is a slap to the face. Pattern recognition, foresight, patience, and situational awareness have been tossed aside in modern video games in favor of instant gratification killfests.

@thundercraker: He does have a point, though. This game is one of the most criticized in the series, more so than 8 and 12. I couldn't even make it to the halfway point of the game, due to:

I just hope it's better than Tales of Vesperia. For a game that started off well, it was plagued with bad pacing halfway, and then turned into your typical "go and collect all the xyz" style plot.

@VincentGrey: The problem is that it's generally too linear. You fight new enemies, but get that bigger gun too soon after, so any added challenge is quickly alleviated. Doom and Heretic did it right with losing gear, where every episode was a clean slate and always harder than the last.
