If you want to just drive it, you suggestion would work. But nobody will touch a Porsche with a Subaru engine later on as buyers will simply walk away from an unauthentic car like that. The charm of a vintage Porsche is its authenticity and purity. If you were going to hot-rod it then it becomes a different category.
