Well, there’s a difference between making a standalone film and part 8 of 9. His story direction might have worked for the very end of the series, but not for the next to the end. (Although I suspect it still would have felt tonally off... It felt off to me long before any of the big story twists.)

It didn’t work for me at all. I came out of the theater irritated.

TFA went to another Death Star entirely due to the complaints about the prequels. The whole film was just to soothe fans with familiarity. They could start doing new things once they had the fans’ buy-in again. In that respect, I’d say it worked. How much you liked it probably depends a bit on how necessary you feel

I was just thinking, "wasn't there some sequel to The Twist in the late 80s, or was more of a cover?"

Given how common complaints about reboots are, I guess the studio wants to make it clear that this isn’t an alternate universe retelling, but an actual sequel to the originals, where legacy has impact.

I really like the characters, but the show’s worldbuilding and plotting are internally inconsistant nonsensical garbage.

I got the sense that Viola waking and walking was something that was happening in increasingly shorter intervals. Maybe for a while it was just once a decade, then every couple of years, then by the time the family was summering there, maybe once a season, and by the start of the show, every 8-10 days, and towards the

I was getting a feel that Viola was a bit of a monster well before her illness. The illness just made her more short-tempered about it. Chronic pain has a way of making people crabby, and that just added onto the fact that she was already pretty entitled to begin with...

Just because the trailer leans heavily into nostalgia doesn’t mean that the film itself won’t have plenty of jokes?

I don’t know why people have so much trouble with the idea that giant improbable monsters might not be hurt much by mundane weapons no matter how high-tech, but DO get hurt by MAGICAL weapons...

Wait, the main characters’ names are Artemis and Hunter? Subtle... 😂🤣😂

Well, the editor for the trailer did a good job. It LOOKS interesting, and if there weren’t familiar character names in the wrong setting, I’d be totally for it. Having to tell myself “These are similar characters in a separate universe” is a pretty huge hurdle, though. If the show drops the idea of multiple similar

I agree that the whole mentor thing is overplayed (especially for a character that never really had a mentor before... Must be the result of this generation being used to helicopter parenting...)

My thought is that the Commission works to keep the timeline in track for the Commission to properly come into existence.

I just assumed that was the order he acquired them in.

I don’t know why they didn’t give this to someone else to add “content” to a report from another web site. (shrug emoji)  Do we have three months of “Here are the figures from all the people who shouldn’t have gone to the movie theater this weekend” reports to (shrug emoji) to?

They’re really more judging a book by the review, and recognizing that the review may be offering a skewed presentation of the book's content.

Spider-Woman is so much more tied to Hydra and the Avengers that she’d really work much better in the main MCU rather than off in Sony’s little Spiderverse offshoot...

I suppose for some it would have just been a distraction from what the show became, but am I the only one who was really hoping for the end of the series to have one last MCU cameo? I’d’ve taken a CG Captain Marvel saluting the Z3 out in space... Using the quantum realm as the ultimate deus ex machina doesn’t really
