I’ve only lived in Japan for 1.5 years compared to the author’s 17, but 7-11's are far superior to Lawson’s in Japan. The food quality is much better. Specifically, when I’ve ordered fried food at Lawson’s it was soggy. There’s a wider variety of pre-made meals at 7-11 and the fried food is always crispy.
