Do NOT get me started on the idiocy that is the out of position and unbelted requirements for FMVSS. We design vehicles that are suboptimal for injury risk in certain conditions in order to better protect fools who do not wear their seatbelts. If they don’t want to wear their seatbelts, fine. What is insane is that

1) Im so conditioned to seatbelts that driving without one on feels like Im running through a crowded mall, entirely populated with bullies from my old school, totally naked.

I’m thinking the mandate that airbags have to adequately protect un-belted occupants is kinda ridiculous at this point. Before we had variable deployment technology, air bags hurt a lot of people because of the extra deployment force needed to keep an un-belted person from launching through the windshield.

Fuck Walmart and everything they stand for. Not just because of this, but because they’re Walmart.

Lots of them in Detroit.

Standard C8 Feature (from the order guide):

On top of those, there’s a high-definition backup camera with park assist (handy, since there’s an engine right behind you)

I think the Corvette will be plenty fast even with the extra 10lbs those features add.

Even if you’re faster than the leaders, you are NOT on the lead lap thus you should yield to those who have no effect on your position.

I think lapped cars should be allowed to turn around and drive in the opposite direction at full throttle, take out a few opponents, then pause and hit ‘Restart Race’.

...wait, what are we talking about again?

The lines are not quite as blurry as some think. “American”-brand cars are largely engineered in America, employing thousands of engineers in the US, along with the supplier community, also largely engineered locally. That is in addition to/in lieu of assembly in the United States or elsewhere.

Exactly. Why not adjust the automatic braking?  The beef about the car approaching the turn too fast and not decelerating when he let off the gas pedal sounds like a case of carrying too much speed into the corner and then booting the brake pedal to get it slowed down. Sounds like operator error to me.

“I’m to lazy to take the time to understand how my car works and how I can personalize it to my preferences, so I hate how the car works.”

Americans unable to understand progressive Swedish advancements. Who would have thought?

When it comes to safety I’ll take function over form.

Here’s a hint: it’s not only about the looks.

It’s also Americas ugliest pickup, so it’s got two things going for it.

2 good ones would be a nice start.

JD Power Rankings are garbage and should be treated as such.
