@nach0: Yeah, but in order to pre-sign, you have to print out a form and leave it at your door for FedEx to take. By walking all the way up to the door to get the paper negates the chance of the deliverer throwing the package...don't you think?

Maybe this is why Apple requires a signature upon delivery???
