Kirk and Jason, much as I enjoy both as journalists, talked themselves (and Totilo apparently) into this weird, convoluted idea that scoring games in even the most rudimentary way is a betrayal to their readers and their professional ethics. They go into it at length on their podcast Splitscreen. I have zero problem

Yeah I’ve got around 2,500 bucks and it basically just operates as a bounty paying fund. An overly large bounty paying fund.  Seems like the premium items were overlooked. Where’s my jet pack and rocket launcher?

Playstation Plus loves to feature games that I bought for dirt cheap on Steam a couple months back and still haven’t gotten around to playing. At least now I’ll have the choice of platforms, I guess?

Never thought I’d say this but I’m dying to get back to this game. I haven’t played since the first major update. I’ll hopefully jump in as soon as I finish RDR2, AC:Odyssey, Detroit: Become Human, Dark Souls Remastered, Wolfenstein 2, Spider-Man DLC, OK I’m screwed forget it.

So it’s more Sega Genesis Flashback than SNES Classic. Hard pass.

Well where I’m at in the story the plan is to head to Tahiti and farm mangoes. I GUESS that’s not working out.

Alien: Isolation was way more successful than any of their crappy shooters. I know that’s historically not stopped studios from beating a dead horse, but I would suspect this will in fact be an Isolation sequel with some shitty tacked-on multiplayer component, maybe something like Evolve/7 Days to Die where it’s 3

I used mine for the first 6 months or so that I owned my PS4. Then I got pretty heavy into Monster Hunter and decided I deserved better than a sore ear at the end of every night. I like that they include it free as it’s better than nothing, but yeah once you upgrade even minimally there’s no going back to that POS.

For sure, but that’s more of a long-tail operation than most studios want to risk. Blood and Wine came out like a year (maybe more?) after the base game. I would imagine Insomniac is in a hurry to get Spider-Man 2 ready for PS5’s launch window.

It’s limited in that it will only be on the menu for a short while and they won’t bring up the idea for a bit until they need more attention. Burger Kings the world over will always take more of your money in exchange for their sorry excuse of a burger patty.

Point well-received, but that’s definitely not the reason athletes have an off-season.

Hell no. I know we all want justice for the guy but let’s not forget that he sucked for a good couple of seasons before getting blacklisted. The only discrepancy is that he isn’t able to get a job over, say, EJ Manuel, who sucks even worse. He should be a backup somewhere, he’s NO savior.

Disagree. It had a fairly low profile. You can find articles and YouTube videos on virtually every game on the planet. That doesn’t mean it’s part of the gaming zeitgeist.

I was also a big fan of the first two (mostly the first) but have very little hope for the third entry. The total lack of buzz around it is very concerning. Hopefully it sneaks up on us but I doubt it.

Lawbreakers in particular just got near-zero exposure upon release. They made this AAA looking game but had none of the AAA publishing juice behind it. This should serve as a template going forward, as you said if you’re gonna make indie games you need an angle that separates you from AAA, rather than trying to

For a $20 a year subscription no less. If NSO even had a few popular games from all feasible generations it would be the best deal in gaming.

It’s a daily struggle to avoid buying this for the third time. I plan to buy it whenever it goes on sale, and fortunately have Bayonetta 2 and Dark Souls to buy me some time. Still though, daily struggle.

An article on Polygon gives word that they had intended the original strictly as a placeholder, and then didn’t manage to switch it out before going gold.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them slow WAY down on the DLC. I haven’t touched The Heist with the slew of games to play this season. These releases would be much better received by this gamer in the December/January time frame, just before that video game overload onslaught day in February.

One of those options comes with some potentially hefty federal prison time though.
