I’m really uncomfortable with the idea of forcing grown men to stand for the national anthem, whether or not it is their own country. Why play it at all?

One of the outspoken right wingers on my FB friends list is now on a crusade to punish the NFL by banning taxpayer dollars from being used to build stadiums. HAVE AT IT, MY FRIEND!

In my section (cheap seats), cubs fans started leaving in 7th. What little shade we had was gone by then, plus they thought they had it wrapped up, I guess. I swear that Cubs fans were the significant majority of the crowd that day. Did you hear the boos every time Braun came to bat? Was that the Milwaukee crowd

Originally this game was scheduled for 6ish, but it was moved to 12:05 at some point. It was brutally hot in Milwaukee today (and yesterday), so I felt for both teams. Playing a day game after two straight extra innings games in such hot weather can’t be easy. Like all Brewers - Cubs games at Miller Park, the crowd

8x11 unframed stock certificate with beer and cheese curd stains?

I was lucky enough to win 2 tickets to Miller Park, second row behind the Brewer’s dugout. It made the game so much more interesting, for lots of reasons. Chief among them, needing to focus on every single pitch and swing to avoid instant death. I was shocked by the number of people with small children in that

So in your scenario...was the defensive back visibly ejected during the play or did the official just decide to eject him when the play was dead?

Yes, that all makes sense. But what I haven’t seen in other sports is an ump making the call and signalling “ejection” while play is ongoing and play continues after the ejection. Am I being too literal?

Nice pointless shove by the Giants defender towards the end of that punt return. Kind of sums up their season so far.

Way way back...in the time of VCRs, I ended up with a clip from the Turner Classic Movie channel of Cicely Tyson telling a story about filming Sounder. That woman can tell a story.

After Reese got married to her current husband, she kept showing up in public with injuries and crazy stories to explain them. Made me wonder about Mr. Reese 2.0.

Whosagoodboy?!?!?!

Is she ok? Or are updates only for professional athletes?

fascinating....is this the only sport where an ejection doesn’t stop play? I get that sometimes the infraction that leads to ejection doesn’t stop play, but strange than an ejected player can continue to play, however briefly, and have an impact on the game. Baseball...even the written rules are strange.

As former First Lady Laura Bush once said, stereotypes come from somewhere. (Can’t believe that comment didn’t get more attention!) In any event, one of the stereotypes of Russians is that they are racist. Typically they focus on denigrating people from the Caucauses, but when they leave Russia, they freely pick on

Sadly, the video is quite helpful, since people initially said he was lying.

This is the best thing ever posted on Deadspin.

don’t forget the holding on the Fail Mary...less forgiveable than the botched face mask call.

Given everything that’s happened in the past few years, I can’t really enjoy The Office anymore. I feel like they celebrated laughing at sexual harassment and casual racism. Making the Dwight Schrute character lovable is not something I can forgive. Look who we have as President now - Dwight Schrute minus the
