Because If a man Isn’t taller and lord over his woman, Is he really a man? Society’s ridiculous view of masculinity, that a man who’s not over 5' 10" Isn’t masculine. BUT - I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hear a woman she would not date a man that wasn’t taller than she Is. 

If you were 9 at the end of the decade, you have a very different perspective.

If they’re going to Idolize any decade, pick the 80s. Great style to rip off (not dependent on designer labels) the best music - pick your genre - pop, dance, hip hop, metal, rock. I graduated HS In 1985. I’m still nostalgic for It. This (and subsequent generations) will never know the joy of browsing Tower Records…
