It’s too dependent upon vehicle type and condition. As always, a thorough inspection and a keen eye to how it may have been treated are most important. Most of the used cars I’ve bought were higher mileage and reliable. The one I bought that was old “one owner little old lady” and with low miles was a nightmare POS.

Funny how they ditched the Datsun name to escape the rust reputation (without fixing the rust problem), now they’re trying to harken back to when they used to make interesting cars under that name. And I understand they don’t want to insinuate that money-making crossovers are boring, but beige sedans are at least 10

If it’s the idea or aesthetic of no windshield you were tied to, I get it, but why not tie the cage to the windshield header, like a T-top? That would allow clearance for climbing in and out or working on things and you could put a solid beam across the inside of the doors since they don’t need their guts anymore. At

It’s supposed to just pay for their costs. Of course, with the fatal B-17 crash, I believe the reports mentioned that they were not performing all the necessary maintenance, so I don’t know. They did buy a massive tank collection and built a whole museum for them, so maybe they rerouted funds or someone’s pocketing,

With something this old, even MA wouldn’t care as long as you don’t have structural rot and the original required equipment at time of manufacture works (lights, horn, etc.). At the time this was built, not that much was required. Being an electric conversion, though, the age doesn’t really matter as much where, if

The program I know of is on hold for uncertified pilots right now, but IIRC, a flight in an F4 Phantom was the same price. A Messerschmitt 262 and P-51 Mustang was a LOT less. Even if it was one of those multi-seat F1 cars they used to have for sponsor joyrides it would be too much, but a fucking McLaren road car?

Real life range probably won’t make it to the trailhead and to a picturesque enough spot without needing to be towed back.

They could drive around zapping cyclists and small animals. I wish I could star you more than once for that!

Yikes, that’s predictably a power hog at about 1kw/mile, which is about four times what a Tesla Model 3 uses and I imagine that’s without using much of that prodigious power. People seem to like to sarcastically ask about range when towing, well here’s a good one to ask that about. I don’t expect people buying these

I don’t know who blew a light here, but if it’s anything like when I was there in the 90s, people would blow lights all the time and at speed. Coming up Woodward near the DIA one time, some trashed malaise sedan that would have been rejected many years previously in a state with inspections clattered across from a

One of the first things I noticed when I went to school there was all the bollards in front of grocery stores. I was told it was to prevent smash-and-grabs.

I agree that, with the amusement park rides, merchandizing, and I think Tyler did one of those judge-call-in-voting talent show things, that they really are more of a brand. I liked some of their songs, but it was always just what I consider background driving standard rock, not the kind of thing that really grabs me.

They really should have seen that coming.

Damn, I’m not much of one for celebrities, but that’s a dude I would have loved to have been able to talk to. Not only did he have a bunch of talents, any one of which could have made him a legend on their own, but from interviews and everything, he just seemed like a smart, funny, sarcastic guy. Lost him way too

The ONLY thing I’d ever want to do with that engine is take it apart to not be put back together. Some neat looking parts to check out.

I’ve listened to them plenty in my time (I’m 44), though I’m long worn out on them at this point. I don’t see this marketing exercise accomplishing much more than selling a few tee shirts to people who already buy HD gear.

You got to sing with Prince? That’s awesome in the truest sense of the word.

I would hope he’d bellyache about a deal with Cobain’s estate. Not only would the guy have absolutely hated that, but he’s long dead and has no ability to actually endorse anything if he wanted to, making it even more transparently cynical a marketing ploy.

I’m the north of Boston area, but I don’t doubt there are large regional variations. Even in different towns around here, it varies. Honda Accords and Civics, for instance, are generally driven by normal people, but in some places, (primarily used models) are apparently driven exclusively by people who are in the act

No, that’s the weird thing—I don’t see RAV4 drivers being especially bad. They seem entirely normal in their share of morons to competent people. There are other cars that sell in large numbers, too, but they don’t stand out in the same way. I think most of it is down to the type of people those vehicles appeal to,
