On a lighter note, the subreddit for this series has devolved into pictures like this over the last few days. Hopefully they’re not the only positive thing to come out of the series:

Completely agree. Colburn calling in the plates, for example, could mean that he found and moved the car, or it could mean that he was illegally on the Avery property and later tipped the searchers. Either way he’s in the wrong, but one of those scenarios still suggests Steve Avery might be the guy.

Not to mention Juanita Broaddrick, who did accuse him of rape.

Next stop: Comedy Bang Bang.

That’s true, but my hope is that the more people share their stories, like Beth has here, the more it will help victims of abuse make sense of their experiences in ways that don’t perpetuate it.

i keep hearing (have not bothered fact checking this) he wears dark contacts that make his irises look bigger so I think you’re cool.

I thought the pentagon’s position wasn’t quite that strong, more of a can’t-confirm-or-deny-we’ll-look-into-it kind of thing? Have they revised their position or come to any conclusions?

Non-Stop?

Do you have a link for that?

Oh you’re right, I forgot, jet fuel can’t melt steel beams.

You mean evidence like the DNA of a 17 year old victim being found in the zipper of his pants?

Yeah, I agree with that. I don’t think the unit cohesion issue will arise because women will be acting all womeny around men and just destroying everything with their femininity, but because (many) men are unaccustomed to working with women, don’t want to behave around women the way they do around men, and thus will

I don’t think that’s the concern, I think it’s more, the culture will change, there will be a transition period, and unit cohesion could be compromised during that transition. That doesn’t mean the change itself is a bad thing, just the adjustment might be initially difficult.

Well there’s a simple solution to that problem, which is don’t lower the standard. I know there were rumors about that happening with the Rangers, but I haven’t seen anything conclusive and the army denies it. I think if they do that they’re completely shooting themselves in the foot, and doing a disservice to the

As far as the polling goes, I wonder how much the answers are influenced by respondents simply not expecting women to be able to pass. From what I’ve heard Special Ops training is absurdly grueling (even more grueling than Ranger training, which 2 women passed this summer). I’m willing to bet if a woman went through

Yeah, I’m all for calling people on their bullshit, but heckling a performer is not the same thing as calling people on their bullshit.

Oh, yeah, I’d agree with that. I’m not convinced yet that he’s lying. But his plan would still seem unreasonable to the vast, vast majority of low-ranked 23 year olds, so it’s hardly expected. In fact, his plan would probably seem far more unreasonable to a 23 year old serving in a war zone than one who isn’t. To one
