That being said, I think every topic John covers on the show has a tie-in from the previous 6 days, 23 hours, and 30 minutes. There’s always something relevant from the past week that he uses as a springboard into an issue which maybe hasn’t been a top story that week.
I love Last Week Tonight with John Oliver but I wasn’t a big fan of him as the host of The Daily Show when Jon Stewart took that sabbatical to direct his movie. I think the weekly frequency works better for Oliver than the daily one.
