Anal Retentive Observation of the Night:

It wouldn't have been inappropriate to just have a old-school terminal which would connect to a back-office mainframe (for you kids, that's what we used to call "the cloud").

Technological Time Anomaly Alert

Has anyone ID’d the episode of Welcome Back, Kotter that was playing on the TV? True DC Nerd Service would have it be one on which Mark Evanier was a writer.

+1 from me for making their first time jump to the day of my 13th birthday. (Yes, I am that old.)

Don't sweat it Will. Except for anal-retentive disciples of the YIVO Yiddish transliteration standards, there's no one way to spell it.

Not sure about the New 52 Universe, but I don't recall ever seeing earrings on a Kryptonian.

WTF is Kara doing with earrings in that photo? I didn't know that the Piercing Pagoda now had ear piercers made from Kryptonian metal.

I think he needs to cut back on the segment where he talks about his upcoming guest and then cuts to commercial. He should just jump to the guest at that point and give them more time.

As a NY Giants fan who was living in the DC area at the time, I will forever call that my favorite moment in Washington football history.

Yes, but one who played in the Pro Bowl. Hence, a Pro Bowler, not a pro bowler.

No, no, no! It was a double Showcase win. Damn it, were all our efforts for naught?

Also, don’t forget that Blansky’s Beauties was extensively reworked into Who’s Watching the Kids on NBC. (My teenage self watched this dreck just to linger on Caren Kaye.) So does that count as a step-spinoff, a half-spinoff, or a second spinoff, once removed?

Someone's already mentioned Blansky's Beauties. Didn't the short-lived Out of The Blue ( w/Jimmy Brogan) originate as a Happy Days ep?

I believe The Honeymooners originated on the DuMont show Calvalcade of Stars. The Jackie Gleason Show was post-Honeymooners.

Both Snooki & Cake Boss live in my hometown - it's true, you can't go home again

Alan Brennert never failed to write a gem - I would buy a collection of his DC work in a heartbeat. (And I think even Mark Waid would agree this story was worth his being fired.)

It's an homage to the cover of Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 (not #8) - it's never failed to bring a tear to my eye from day one.

There must have been something in the MTM water cooler, since the other arguably greatest Thanksgiving sitcom episode is, of course, WKRP's "Turkeys Away."
