What changes do you have in mind? Overall, it’s a good thing that it’s hard to put people in jail for life.

We have to stop letting these guys get away with it. Sandusky, Cosby, Sharper - there was tons of smoke before someone finally decided to do anything.
What an unprofessional piece of human garbage.
Of course there are bad laws. But the solution is to fix the laws, not to empower the executive branch to interpret them in ways that they/you/I feel are the best way to bridge the gap.
I’ve followed baseball for over 35 years, and played it for 20, and I still don’t understand how pitchers do something that’s 100% cowardly (a violent attack on a defenseless player, with no possible chance of retaliation) and then strut around like tough guys.
We should all be thankful that laws are written specifically, by legislators. It’s all that protects us from tyrants, petty and large.
RICO doesn’t apply unless there’s illegal activity. It isn’t a “put people I don’t like in jail” law.
If I invented a new type of soda, and it had alcohol in it, I could say “but it’s soda”. We have the FDA to say “no, it’s beer, you can’t call it that, and have to follow these laws”. There’s no one saying this is not under the fantasy exemption just because of name.
You almost certainly know more about the sport than I do.
That was a cool play - right at the start of the game.
In my experience, adults trying to “be cool” with kids was the creepy thing.
I successfully* avoided using my in-laws’ first names for the first 5 years I knew them.
Am I crazy for being heavily grossed out by this?
Cooper started it, looks like.
On the other hand, the Reds (the DBacks’ opponent that day, IIRC) were pretty enthused about it all.
Your post doesn’t sound like you have doubts about anything.
Too chickenshit to make the public pay for the war, or make a truthful case for it. Too many people confuse “willing to send others to kill/die” with bravery.
I’m American, and it’s been a long time, but it’s hard to wrap my mind around people thinking that they’re owed deference, sympathy, and silence just for their non-evident nationality. IN A BAR. Not to mention bar in a foreign country.
“Everybody’s crooked and I’m one of the few who are smart enough to have it all figured out.”
Nope, that’s not cynical.
Thinking your interpretation of events is “obvious,” despite many other conflicting views = arrogant. Got it?
