To me, it is crazy how some of the most basic cars in pristine condition can become so desirable once you see what they looked like in their prime. I swear some of these basic cars are harder to find, opposed to proven collectibles of other makes.

No. Sold MINIs and imo, they are slow/behind the times in regards to performance. But... their options and software are leaps beyond any VW
Porsche should apologise for the Cayenne, Jeep should apologise for the SRT, Ford should apologise for an independent suspension in the Mustang, Mitsubishi should apologise for the Eclipse (actually, I think they should in this case), and the list goes on...
