The irony is that Trump would actually LOVE to get some kind of universal healthcare passed. Not because it would actually help anyone, god forbid, but because he could call it Trumpcare and crow until the end of time about how he got it done where everyone else failed. He wouldn’t give a fuck about it being

Exactly. They cannot be trusted with healthcare and they’ve shown it.

They are so submerged in false reality that they think liberals are trying to take away their healthcare and give it to undocumented immigrants and criminals.

I work for a health insurance company and I have enough anecdotes to surmise that A LOT of people don’t know how health insurance works (I’m not a genius at it, myself, to be frank). And that’s the system’s fault more than their own.

Pretty sure I found that Government death panel we’ve been warned about for years

Live look at a Congressional intern delivering more evidence of impeachment to Pelosi’s office:

Every Democrat running for any office should be talking nonstop about healthcare. The fact that the Trump administration has done nothing in four years, including two with control of both the House and Senate, should be front and center of every campaign.

The GOP’s backup plan, as it’s always been, is “Congrats assholes on your diagnosis. You now have the choice of either being sick and possibly dying or going broke paying for treatments.”

My laymen’s understanding on how the ACA passed its’ first SCOTUS review is that the individual mandate was a tax that could be extracted from an individual on the basis that, should you end up in the hospital, the government would be taking up the tab. The counter argument was that the government could not compel

Nancy ain’t gonna do shit.

None of this means a thing unless they’re prepared to actually enforce Congress’s inherent powers to compel testimony. They don’t need the DOJ. That’s simply been the custom for the last 80 years.

Democrats Are Really Serious About Holding Ross and Barr in Contempt This Time

Yeah. But it’s more fun to complain that a person prevented by the Constitution from doing something isn’t doing it.

Do they double pinky swear?

Well, hopefully the letter uses lots of exclamation points so Barr knows she really means it this time.

Pelosi said in her letter on Monday that the Trump administration was trying to “make America white again,” with the addition of the question, which might scare immigrants into not participating.

Contempt of congress is a serious charge, especially with multiple instances. However unless someone actually enforced it and brought him before Congress,  what is their endgame? It seems like more showboating because the other party will refuse to enforce the law as it's written.

Essentially the only thing the House could do that would have any immediate effect would be to charge Barr with inherent contempt and have the sergeant-at-arms arrest him to bring him before the House to testify. Criminal contempt will go nowhere because as you said the Justice dept is not likely to indict itself, and

Two more sternly worded letter and the Dems will really get lukewarm mad.
