That orange games console is kind of gorgeous.

The top image looks like a distant relative of the plumbus.

Ah, the tribal design GBA SP. Truly the most Noughties console of its generation.

Logging in and seeing I had 28 notifications was an interesting moment.

If Doomfist is announced it’s going to make the Numbani payload a bit problematic...

I’m guessing it’d default to entering a passcode, as it does when it can’t get a decent fingerprint.

Rayman’s one of my all-time favourite games, and it’s kind of fascinating to see that title in its early stages. Maybe I’ll check it out.

Rayman’s design is (apparently) the result of hardware limitations around the time he was created. The developers couldn’t get his limbs to animate properly on consoles, so he and everyone else in the first game is completely limbless. It actually pays off in a big way for the final boss, however, and it’s a massive

If I’m honest I think I’d find the Bing Bong show depressing more than anything else. It’s all fun and games until someone dissolves in the pit of oblivion inside a young girl’s head.

You make comics? Do you have a website I can visit?

Oh, Pirates is a window on an era of history? The one with the cursed Aztec gold, ghost pirates, giant sea monsters and sailing off the edge of the world?

Your analogy doesn’t really work because Pirates of the Caribbean isn’t an historical document. Its content or lack of content isn’t meant to act as some kind of window on a period of history. It’s an amusement park ride. It’s a fantastical little diversion in a family-friendly tourist attraction, designed not to

We’ve also had a couple of instances where cartoons like Steven Universe were censored for having scenes that were vaguely homoerotic... and this is in a show that’s pretty creative in its approach to same-sex relationships. It’s difficult for me to really give you an idea of the gay experience in the UK, as I’m not

I think talking about the notion of gay acceptance is extremely difficult, on the basis it’s impossible to make any kind of general comment on the matter. While in the Western world we’ve made great strides towards acceptance of LGBT people (congratulations Germany! Even if Merkel was against it) there’s still plenty

In retrospect it beats out Portal 2 for the Least Likely to Get a Lego Set Made.

Is it, though? Goldeneye might be beloved and important as a piece of history. As an actual game, though, it’s aged pretty poorly. Not unlike the N64 itself. Outside of maybe Super Mario 64, almost every big game on the system has been done better either as a sequel or a remake.

I feel like this would be a stronger article if it weren’t for the fact Devil’s Crush is kind of awesome. It’s certainly a very solid pinball game, at least, and I’m glad it lives on.

It’s annoying when something doesn’t get a rerelease... or even a first-time release. Here in the UK, we apparently missed out on a bunch of VC and PS1 Classics, as well as Katamari Damacy and Re: Chain of Memories (at least until we got the HD rerelease of the latter.) And, invariably, the games you want to play cost

Gamecube component cables go for something like £200 on eBay at the moment. Thank God the Wii has Gamecube & component support...

It’s a very enjoyable retro platformer with an innovative weapons system, great controls and a pretty moving story. The final boss in the 3DS version is an utter bitch, however. Not sure if that’s changed for the Switch version.
