Lego Dimensions is a fun game and pretty staggering as a pop-culture crossover, but in my opinion it never quite justifies the investment. Many of the puzzles are simply about using the right ability at the right time, or doing a task that is laborious but uncomplicated. The toy pad does get used as an actual gameplay

It looks like Magnemites like to feel pretty as well. Who knew?

I’m not saying Durant’s creating art from a Native perspective or any other minority perspective. The problem- as I see it- is that he’s appropriating historical items with a lot of baggage and using them as a way to work through his own ignorance. He’s using it to further explore and understand his own

When we criticise a person’s actions, though, we don’t typically treat their intentions as some kind of extenuating circumstance. We look at the actual impact their actions had, whether or not they meant to cause harm in the first place. A bully treating somebody like shit doesn’t become ameliorated if they only saw

I feel like we have to approach the idea of offence and subject matter in a more nuanced way. When a piece of art is attacking someone who can take the hit and should be scrutinised, then it’s right and necessary that it exists. Yes, Minister is deeply unflattering to the British government, but that’s an entity that

We draw the line on writing from minority perspectives when we realise we can’t write with as much honesty and insight as someone who truly understands the situation at hand. As a white person, I can only understand the experience of a black person up to a point. I can read novels and essays by black people, I can

This is one game I wish had a physical release. They could have at least added one to the special edition...

But some of the people protesting this sculpture were descended from the Native people executed on these gallows during the war. Even if there’s a considerable distance in time between then and now, I’d argue that’s a legitimate reason to protest. If I was a Native American, I think I’d be pretty shocked if something

If you write a story with, say, a Native American as the protagonist, you’re not debating an idea. You’re painting a picture of somebody’s culture and history. And if you don’t have an intimate understanding of said culture and history, you should research like hell and talk to a range of Native Americans as a matter

I don’t think most people here are saying that you can’t make art about people and cultures that are different from you. It’s that you need to do a lot of research and have a lot of conversation with the culture in question to avoid your art coming across as inaccurate or downright offensive. This artist took a pretty

I can’t think of any situation where I’d want pictures of my (or anyone’s) penis in my Photos app for any length of time. It just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

I’m pretty sure they’re using the Natural Texture Pack, which appears across the console versions. I’ve used it a lot; it softens most of the textures without throwing the appearance of them out of whack. My favourite’s probably the Plastic texture pack, though.

My impression upon first seeing this game was that it was a pretty blatant mishmash of existing titles. But even if it’s kind of obvious, I think there’s a place for this game to exist. I’m currently playing through Ico for the first time, and I’d happily see more quiet, contemplative games, even if the sense of awe

To be honest, once I read Dracula the whole idea of proving a vampire became a lot less appealing. Guy has a certain magnetism, but he’s a goddamn predator; suave, calculating but ruthless. I wouldn’t go anywhere near the bastard, with or without his chiseled good looks.

This entire comments section is validating my comics collection so hard.

To be fair, we did also get Rabbids Go Home, which was a surprisingly good platform game.

Algebraic!

Yes, but it was also a game that we remember for its sweeping vistas and haunting atmosphere, rather than its nuanced platforming. I mean, that element of the game was certainly solid, if a bit floaty at times, but the standout moment for me is sliding down that sandy slope as the sun sets through the columns.
