If you write a story with, say, a Native American as the protagonist, you’re not debating an idea. You’re painting a picture of somebody’s culture and history. And if you don’t have an intimate understanding of said culture and history, you should research like hell and talk to a range of Native Americans as a matter

I don’t think most people here are saying that you can’t make art about people and cultures that are different from you. It’s that you need to do a lot of research and have a lot of conversation with the culture in question to avoid your art coming across as inaccurate or downright offensive. This artist took a pretty

I can’t think of any situation where I’d want pictures of my (or anyone’s) penis in my Photos app for any length of time. It just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Does the Red Hulk operate under different laws of hair growth? That sounds like a fascinating discussion in and of itself.

I’m guessing that since (in the most recent films where Hulk appears) Bruce is rarely the Hulk, he’s able to keep up with his shaving. But if he went bearded, or couldn’t shave, a hairy Hulk is the expected result.

I heartily recommend the books; they were amongst my favourite growing up. They’d probably fall under the YA banner nowadays, but the setting and scenes they conjure up are truly horrifying.

On reflection, turning Avatar into a theme park attraction is probably one of the best things you could do with it. Create a beautiful alien world and then open it to the park-goers; let them have their own experiences in it, because the base story isn’t going to be anywhere near as impactful.

I’m pretty sure they’re using the Natural Texture Pack, which appears across the console versions. I’ve used it a lot; it softens most of the textures without throwing the appearance of them out of whack. My favourite’s probably the Plastic texture pack, though.

My impression upon first seeing this game was that it was a pretty blatant mishmash of existing titles. But even if it’s kind of obvious, I think there’s a place for this game to exist. I’m currently playing through Ico for the first time, and I’d happily see more quiet, contemplative games, even if the sense of awe

To be honest, once I read Dracula the whole idea of proving a vampire became a lot less appealing. Guy has a certain magnetism, but he’s a goddamn predator; suave, calculating but ruthless. I wouldn’t go anywhere near the bastard, with or without his chiseled good looks.

This entire comments section is validating my comics collection so hard.

I believe they’re doing something similiar with Paris’ Space Mountain ride. They’re giving it a a Star Wars veneer but all the retro steampunk styling is still in place. Kind of a shame, but apparently the Space Mountain experience hasn’t actually been that good for a while now.

These kinds of limitations also played a role in Star Trek. The transporter concept was dreamt up so they didn’t have to show the Enterprise landing on a planet, and the touchscreen panels meant they could reconfigure them quickly and cheaply as required.

Even if this is true, you’re forgetting that Disney is basically selling an experience at their parks- one that hinges upon nostalgia for their old characters and a chance to live in the world- however briefly- of the new ones. A chance to step into the world of GotG is going to be vastly more attractive to most

As someone who literally had to name paints recently, these are only marginally sillier than the names paints actually have.

Apparently the reason Luke has a green lightsaber in ROTJ is because the blue one wouldn’t show up against the Tatooine sky properly. Like most iconic elements, it was borne from necessity and limitation... so it’s kind of unique even among lightsabers, I’m guessing.

Disneyland Paris has been (and is still) undergoing a massive renovation at the moment, so by the time we go in September we’ll hopefully be seeing it at its best. Fingers crossed that Pirates of the Caribbean is open when we go; it’s the only ride that may be closed for renovation.

Well, we do have a Marvel Tsum Tsum comic, so the Marvel Lunchbox Universe doesn’t seem that farfetched.

My first memory of Star Wars is going to see the premiere of Episode I as a child and thinking ‘wait, didn’t this film come out years ago?’
