@lamintak: There was a similar discussion on car talk a few weeks ago. as @ckcallen said, your way is totally harmless, but downshifting will not only make your brakes last longer, but improve your fuel economy as well.

@nerve11: Doubtful. Windows does not natively support Apple's file system and I don't think OSX supports NTFS natively either.
