V6 and 2.0 turbo would be fun for about 1500 miles, then you’ll start kicking yourself for not getting the V8. Trust me, the LT1 is well worth the money.
The BASE SS is 35k plus tax, title, destination.
GM won’t even make a fun daily driver under 40 grand because they’re too busy selling crossovers that nobody needs, that everybody seems to need.
I’ve owned the car below going on 10 years now. Paid $ 24,095 in 2007. New, showroom model. I’ve done everything from transporting two kayaks on the roof along with a passenger and a trunk full of camping gear, drag racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway in NY (without the kayaks), more ski trips across New England than I…
I really, really want to like the SS, but it’s just not worth the pricetag. It is a nice car by 2010 standards if you can get one at 20% off. Paying full retail for one is like shooting yourself in the foot.
So you’re going to spend an extra 15k to have leather seats and some extra parking sensors? The SS is a cool car but wayyyy overpriced for what it is, and that Dinosaur LS3 is a slug under 4400 RPMs.
Still a ripoff when you can get the Alpha-platform Camaro SS with the LT1 for mid-3o’s.
The Chevrolet SS was a classic case of GM half-assing their American-made products. Definitely not buying any more of their garbage in the future.
They’re also asking 50k for all of them.
All of those leftovers are automatics. Right now you either pay 50k for a new one, or overpay for a used one because the seller thinks they are letting go of 4000lbs of gold. They’re fun cars, but definitely outdated and way overpriced right now. Unfortunately even the G8 GXP’s are still priced way up there, so that’s…
Call me when they’re 30k OTD.
I guarantee you this guy would start his plane up on the weekends and rev the engine, much like people do with their Harleys or muscle cars in the winter because they’re too stupid to just fog the motor and put it away until spring.
Was this after a cars & coffee event?
Chevy SS Sedan. If G8 GXP sale prices are any indicator...
I like this idea. Ever notice how NASCAR gets exciting towards the end? Now we can wait until the last segment to tune in and watch the crashes. Thanks, NASCAR! #3
I WANT A STICK. THERE’S ONE SALE AND A POTENTIAL FOR A LIFELONG CUSTOMER. NOW MULTIPLY THAT BY THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT A STICK AND WHAT DO YOU GET? PROFIT.
What is it with this company making vehicles that nobody wants, and then charging a premium for them?
GM: “Yooo, we’re gonna import this cool global pickup truck that has a turbo-diesel and a manual everywhere else, but we’re gonna give it a dumpy V6 and a slushbox-only. Want a stick? Get a Toyota.”
First we have the BRZ in the exit-only lane, then he steps on it when the Camry clearly starts moving over. You could tell that was coming from a mile away. If you’re going to pass on the right, you had better do it quick.
What the hell is it with Subaru owners and their obsession with tire pressure? First my grandfather going on about how Nitrogen is such a great thing in his new Outback, and now this dope parked on the side of the road “ADJUSTING TIRE PRESSURES FOR BETTER WINTER DRIVING” for the 1" of slush that’s on the road.
