Anyone who's read the books knows that they can't follow the events of books four and five in the order in which they are presented since timelines are split between the two. But I thought that season four of the show would be book three, part-B, so this likely will be just a vision, or they are going to accelerate

Oh, I've seen Breaking Bad and loved it but forgot all about this scene (I didn't watch the clip you linked). I guess if it didn't register (certainly not as "funny and sad and heartbreaking all at once") it just wasn't all that great. People interpret different things differently. Go figure.
