I thought it was interesting, but not as funny as I'd hoped it would be, based on Louis C.K.'s recommendation. It was more like the beginnings of a one-woman show.

I've been to maybe 50 stand-up shows, and have never witnessed heckling. There was a drunk woman once who thought she was a bit more important than she really was when the comedian was talking to her, but that's about it. Most shows are heckler-free.
Part of (most of) the reason that Steve Martin quit stand-up was because of this phenomenon. He got tired of performing the same bits, especially when the audience would yell the punchline before he got to it.
"Ahead of your time" does not necessarily equal funny. If you want to argue that he was a prescient social commentator in his later years, that's fine, but he was not a very good stand-up comedian. I saw Carlin live in 1995ish and the show was awful. (I hadn't seen his stand-up in a while, so I had no idea what to…
We get it. You hate LOST. Way to miss the point.
Just ask an Evil Dead/Army of Darkness fan.
No, you really didn't.

And the Bowling Ball Big Lebowski?
@witlesschum:disqus They are, go back and watch them, specifically for the "cue big music" scenes. One of the many that stood out for me was the scene in A League of Their Own where the black woman threw the ball, and surprise(!) she can throw farther than they thought! It was horribly overwrought and the scene wasn't…
And at $225 (Amazon price), it won't fit many people's budget. That seems excessive for the length of the show, even considering the extras. I remember paying $160 for LOST on Blu-Ray, and that was a considerably longer series. Are people really going to pay that much more for special features and an apron?
For someone who doesn't give a shit, you sure wrote passionately about it.
I think the character would have been a bit too jokey if you cast Johnson. I've always said that Kevin Durand (Keamy on LOST http://en.wikipedia.org/wik… ) would be perfect if he bulked up a bit. He's the right height and, as LOST proved, has quite a bit of menace in him, which is necessary for Reacher.
@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus You may be right about her being female as a reason for the hatred. I don't hate her, I just think she did one brilliant film and the rest are pretty unwatchable. But back to your point. Much like female comedians years ago, there just aren't that many females good at directing films. It might…
@avclub-5934f8d8c7553f3a03d2f898e03d721c:disqus Glengarry Glen Ross, Heat, The Insider, Insomnia. He can be way over the top, especially in the 90s, but those are certainly better than GFIII and Scarface.
@songstarliner:disqus There is nothing wrong with you. Just put the book down and move on.
Next year will be 18 years since its release, so they could bring in her daughter.
I might have actually gone to see After Earth if he had at some point said, "Welcome to Earth!" He didn't; I checked.

A friend of mine watched the movie at my urging (he said the series was too much of a commitment for him at the time), and then immediately bought the series and loved it. So there's that.
