Yeah, every player has to have a copy of the game rather than just one copy for the group. Probably doesn’t hurt that the 3DS recovered quite well from its rocky start while the Wii U has been kind of a sad joke for its whole life.

The key is multi-user households. You’ve got a couple kids at home, plus parents potentially, and suddenly you’ve got double, triple, or even quadruple the sales for a given household.

I’ve had a lot of success with this “strategy” on CTF: Cap once with a hard multi-tank and Tracer push and then camp on your own flag with Bastion and Symm and some healers. I don’t say this to suggest it’s a good thing. It sucks.

Nintendo saw to that issuing a baseless (as there was no infringement) CND letter against a simple mod, so now it’s been clandestinely released and can be had not only as an IPS, but also as a pre-patched ROM file.
