Exactly. I mean... that’s precisely why we get security updates for Windows, Android, iOS, OS X, Adobe programs, Java, Chrome, Firefox, etc., etc., etc....

The “you can’t have the software anymore” licensing argument evaporates when the copy in your possession is a physical disc that you purchased since that’s actual ownership, not just a digital license—and a company can’t revoke a consumer’s ownership of a purchased good.
License terms of service are not copyright. The only “jurisdiction” they fall under is the company that creates it. They can do things like revoke licenses and ban users, but you’re not breaking the law by breaking an EULA.
Dang, man... that’s just cold.
Even if they were losing money because of it, doesn’t make it illegal.
Not many as far as I saw from the Bizz case for WoW, more of a “we are losing money because they are hurting our player base”. Which is false, Blizzard makes a boat load off hackers/botters and a lot of them return to play. Also I have never heard of a friend quitting a game because he encountered a hacker. You think…
Moral stuff aside, what laws does this break?
Attacking the problem at the “source” does nothing because the source is people. Even if they succeed at stomping it out, another will take its place. Just like the fight against piracy, it’s a never-ending game of cat and mouse that always ends up with the bad guys winning because the only real weapon is draconian…
Soccer isn’t a very popular sport in the U.S.
Which is sad, because it requires team-work, intuition and precision to score. I live in Utah and I am surprised how many people go to RSL games.
Edit, meant to add /s to the first sentence.
It’s not so much a matter of hardware. It’s the software that needs to be optimized.
Eh, just like Ingress? I bet we’ll see people with backpacks full of batteries just to fuel their gaming obsession then.
yeah, no gains just a big ass battery drain.
Not the same, I want the ARG style pokemon game but not the shit they are making. They are doing it all wrong.
I noticed that when I was playing the beta also. Once, I had a battery pack hooked in, and I was still dropping % on my phone AND draining the battery pack at a horrendous rate. Ingress was bad, but not nearly as much. Hopefully there’s a future phone that will be able to handle this a bit better.
True story.
Ugh, this just keeps looking worse and worse and more and more like ingress. Hard pass! give me a real style pokemon game where I get a starting pokemon and encounter random fights and can actually battle with others by commanding the pokemon. Not this hold a location auto win garbage
If the full version runs like the latest beta build, it’ll make your phone hot enough to burn your hand while running slower and slower the longer it’s open. It will also drain your battery like woah.
I agree with them when they talk about compromised gameplay, though.
Oh.. look China is once again not respecting a single international copyright law or treaty. Could it that they knew China will always rule in their favor? Could they be yet another state funded company? Could it be due to the lack of not actually letting people do business there without all your stuff being stolen so…
