I'd say they're more than pretty good—I loved these books.

These guys have been a slow burn for me. First saw them as an opening act that were interesting enough to check out further; was first charmed when I watched their Take Away Show; I've liked each album a little more than the last. I'm really hoping the trend continues!

I'd say it's neck-and-neck between "Post-War," which is so sparse and gorgeous, and "Poor Boy, Minor Key." The latter is one of those songs that takes so long to get to the meat of the song with all that wonderful build up, and then ends so quickly that I'm always tempted to play it twice in a row.

Saw Dr. Dog perform these songs as a weird, awesome collaboration with Pig Iron Theater in Philly. It was gloriously strange. Cool to see it getting a release.

No longer that recent, but I enjoyed Super Sad True Love Story and Will Not Attend: Lively Stories of Detachment and Isolation.
