The red trackball/nub/whatever is extremely useful for working in tight spaces such as an airplane - means you don’t have to move your arm/elbow as much as you would w/ a trackpad, and therefore won’t be continuously fighting for space with your row-mate when trying to get work done.

Hell yes Puddleglum! We had VHS tapes of the BBC miniseries and I must have watched those 100 times growing up. Was always bummed that they ended at the Silver Chair.
Everyone = my wife (who has an iPhone and definitely would not switch so she can use her phone as a remote), friends and relatives when they visit, the occasional babysitter, etc.
But that means everyone that uses the tv needs a phone with an IR blaster if you’re using it as an alternative to a universal remote. An easy to program $50 Logitech seems more convenient to me.
