They have NES (and all the classic game systems) emulators for Android on the PLay Store, and I think you can get them on the iPhone if jailbroken.
I just sold a slow-as-shit iPad 1 base model for $160 on Ebay. Looks like the iPad 2's are going for at least $300. Sure, it's convenient to trade in @ BB ... but put 1/2 hr of effort to list and ship the thing and you can get a lot more cash.

When I go hiking sometimes I'll download the map of the area I'm heading to ... up in the backcountry there's usually no data signal, but you can get a GPS fix, so you can still see where you are on the map. There are paid apps that do this better, but for a basic free solution it's pretty nice
