~$1700 for my Thinkpad about 5 years ago, that included the full version of MS Office (it's a work computer) and a 3 year warranty . Have probably put about $300-$400 into it since, on a docking station, external monitor, extra ram, and an upgraded hard drive. So let's call it ~$2000 total, or $400 a year (probably

Re: Force restart. I have an EVO 4G LTE, which has a non-removable battery. You can do a force restart (same as a battery pull) by just holding down the power button for a while. I'd imagine the One would be able to do the same. If you need a spare battery though because you go really long stretches without a charge,

Anyway to get Radical Castle working on a modern PC? Goddamn I loved that game when I was a kid.

"The person quoted in this post seemed to be unhappy that they weren't told in advance that layoffs might be coming. My point is that companies almost never do that."

I really want to buy this phone now, except I'm not sure if I want to re-up our Sprint contract just to get a subsidized phone (supposedly LTE is coming here to Denver this year, but I'll believe it when I see it), and if I did change carriers it would be to Verizon, which is not getting the One.

I technically use it every day - my Google Voice number is my number (/ Sprint). So I'd rather it not 100% die. I could de-couple GV from my cell #, but overall I've been satisfied for what I need.

I have the RT-N56U, it's a great router, and at under $100 is a deal. Range is good; it's in my basement and I still get a strong signal upstairs for streaming HD video on my Roku. Haven't flashed any custom firmware on it (looks like there are some options though), as I've found stock to be fine for the time being.

You got the DK for $55? I've never seen it much lower than $150 - and it's only that cheap now because the AC version is out. I doubt Best Buy of all places would discount it by $100+...

A priest believing in god is not the same thing as a scientist coming to the conclusion (after reviewing the data and literature) that anthropogenic climate change is real. Nothing to do w/ "belief."

Haven't used DD-WRT in a while, but I remember finding Tomato to be easier to setup and the interface overall is more user friendly. DD-WRT might have some more features for "power users", but Tomato still allows you to do a lot more than most stock firmwares, and it's really stable.

Well said ... internet commenter who can only make an overblown reference to an old South Park episode to make a simplified point about an complex scientific topic.

Will hangouts properly handle group SMS? Currently on my Android phone when I get group texts from iPhone's they are placed in the sender's "thread" instead of in the group thread. For example I can send a group text to a bunch of people, but their replies will look like it just came from them, and I have to check the
