We moved (within the same city), so not sure if it'd work at the same house. Although the tech that installed at our new house definitely knew what I was doing ... since when he provisioned my modem (we have our own, don't rent from the cable co) he asked if it had been registered to another Comcast account. I said

Now playing

I remember reading that the Unix interface that Lex figures out was real. So subtract one of those sins! If you're going to nitpick a movie to death, at least get your facts right!

That is indeed the problem. The whole dealership setup is an unfortunate relic of an archaic way of doing business, IMO. With the way modern commerce works, things could really be streamlined. Of course then a bunch of people at dealerships would lose their jobs.

Yes I understand this. My complaint is the fact that you do have to work so hard to get a fair price. Many other goods/services don't work like that ... what makes new cars so special?

What's the best way to get reliable information on dealer invoice pricing?

U-Verse actually is pretty fast though and they probably knew it, whereas the Comcast guys here know that CenturyLink DSL is embarrassingly slow.

I hate that brand new car prices are so open to negotiation ... why can't the goddamn car just cost x and the customer pays x? Instead you have to waste a whole bunch of time doing research about what you should pay and how to negotiate to actually pay that much (on top doing research on what car you actually want)

Having a serious alternative to leave for is key; my friend just tried it w/ Comcast ... they asked what he was going to switch to, he said Century Link (dsl, the only other ISP in our city really), they basically laughed said good luck with that (because their dsl is really really slow). He didn't switch.

He was probably thinking of channels like HBO ... where the only way to get stuff as it airs is subscribe or pirate.

Still have it, no plans to cut. ~$120/mo for fast internet, HBO, Showtime, ESPN and a dvr is worth it for me.

Uh ... the website?

Music too - which uses similar parts of the mind as math and whatnot. Must be the way the human brain is wired.

I love all the people complaining that the trailer doesn't tell them enough about the plot ... "how is this going to be a movie" etc. etc.

One thing about the Ouya that interests me is the potential to be a great all-in-one retro emulator. Plus w/ streaming capabilities, could be a nice set top box options.

Yea I was talking about Google+ ... just assuming photography buffs would want to store full size images and not the "standard" that gives you unlimited storage; hence the recommendation to upgrade their Drive storage.

Switch to google ... you can store all your photos using your Drive storage. Pay extra if you need more storage ... that $5/mo would get you 100 GB. Easy syncing across devices.

"nor does it claim that humans are unable to digest refined grains."

Except Annalee is George's boss, so she wins!

Ok, I have an anecdote too ... in about 5 years I dropped my total cholesterol from ~240 to 190, whilst dropping my LDL 30 points and raising my HDL 10 points, and got in a lot better shape. Still ate plenty of wheat/oats/dairy/legumes/etc during that period ... it's mostly about portion control and getting in enough
