Dammit I was hoping to upgrade from my Nexus S next month ... but no Sprint, no deal.

My first 3 (dumb)phones were LGs, and they all had really good build quality. Haven't used one of their smartphones though ... will reserve judgement until some reviews come out. Also, really a non-issue for me until they release a CDMA version w/ LTE.

How do folks feel about 2.1 systems vs soundbars if you're going for a cheap setup?

I remain bearded most of the year ... use a basic Remington trimmer to keep things neat and tidy. Use basic disposable razors and Burt's Bees shaving cream (great stuff!) to shave the neck and cheeks around the beard-line. I had an electric razor a while back but didn't like how it performed.

For those uses, I'd maybe say get a Nook color for $150 (or $100 refurb) which has a microSD slot for expanded storage, and root it, which makes it very versatile.

If you're in the market for a 16 GB wifi 7" tablet, I don't really see a reason not to get a Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, or Nook Color for significantly less $$, unless you're really really tied to Apple's ecosystem

He said web, books and mail ... pretty sure you don't need hundreds of thousands of apps to do that. We also have an iPad 1 in our house, and the majority of usage is web/email/calendar, not a ton of third-party apps in use.
