Good sweet lord, I love Hamilton but this is absolutely insufferable.

None of the McDonalds in my area melt the cheese. Like, even after sitting in the warm bag for a while on the way home it still won’t be melted. I think it must vary place to place, but this will be a big improvement here.

I actually really agree with your assessment here. I’ve read it but it all just blended together for me into an amorphous blob of violence, so I don’t remember it all that well.

John Carroll Lynch is an incredible suggestion. He can go from cuddly to unbelievably menacing in a heartbeat. Really underrated actor.

I don’t think k-dramas are for me but DAMN if Lee Do-Hyun is not the cutest thing on two legs. The Glory was a challenging watch but he was nothing but a delight throughout it.

No Possession is a mistake. This list overall feels very “AVClub 2023”. Very safe, very mainstream.

I watched Possession for the first time this year and now I don’t quite understand how it’s not considered one of the best of the best.

You’re the MVP of this thread. Iron Chef!!!!!

Oh wow, someone with my exact same thoughts about The Office.

Eh, I felt the doc went too easy on the parents too. Too be fair though, is there any amount of “hard enough” that exists for those two?

This looks and sounds much worse than a C-. Like, what about this story held any appeal to Guy Ritchie? What a weird choice.

I think you need to hop onto his IMDB for a bit. He’s floated towards generic hyper-masculine shit like this just as often as his quirky and offbeat stuff.

This comment is fucking gross.

Pregnancy is an emotionally complicated thing. Even women carrying wanted children can have moments of doubt or conflict, and lord knows Shiv has extra helping of both of those things atm. I really don’t think this is as mysterious as you are all making it out to be.

What a fun and uplifting conversation to have about a complete stranger’s body. This surely helps more people feel welcome here and doesn’t paint you as a sick, creepy weirdo at all.

I feel like the correlation between season length and quality has deteriorated in the last several years. At this point, I’ve watched several shows that seemed worse because of how short they were- not enough time for character development, world building, rushed relationship development, etc. There was a time when

Jesus Christ, that film was so uncomfortable. It’s definitely a “yell at the characters for being fucking idiots” type of horror movie. I actually had to turn it off at the end, I couldn’t take anymore. Gotta be in the right headspace for that kind of shit. (To be clear, a very good movie though and very well made,

This is some quality snark.

I don’t understand how you can not understand that. It could be wildly uneven but it was a female led cast that showcased a bunch of diversity that isn’t often seen on tv. It had a pulpy feel to it, with twists and turns that were often so wild they hooked you into one more episode, and lots of comedic beats as well.

Funny, that’s how you sound to me after writing such an unempathetic and thoughtless comment.
