Things like a propensity for violence and being racist can and often are caused by cultural and societal influences. Are all gang members mentally ill? Funny then how that mental disorder seems to pass over affluent white kids, huh? While mental illness can be caused or at least exacerbated by these same influences,

I overall disliked the show (constant tonal whiplash and confusing messaging) but yeah, that episode was pretty great.

I’m somehow both tickled by this extreme absurdist nihilism and also repulsed at the reminder of the very real kind of shenanigans like this that the extremely wealthy actually do participate in.

I enjoyed HIMYM at the time for what it was. But man, I just find Duff completely devoid of any personality or appeal.

Wow. I’ve never seen or even heard of this movie, yet somehow through cultural osmosis “serpentine serpentine!” has been implanted in my brain my whole life.

I don’t know what they think kids are doing with those toys anyway.

This is a strong take. As someone who stills buys and enjoys toys, it’s pathetic what kids have access to these days. Disney movies use to have incredible tie-in toys (articulated Lion King figs!) instead of just solidly gendered dolls and Littlest Pet Shop used to be something meant to play with instead of just collec

Just to be clear, this is an article about someone else’s article? Huh.

Jfc. Never post again.

The professor makes a reference at the end to “why”. He says that research exists that contradicts the basic premise of the video. Therefore the continued perpetuation of those theories in the face of refuting data would put them into the category of pseudoscience. That’s not really the point of this article though, so

I watch 95% music videos only on YouTube and the other 5% is drag stuff, yet I was recommended this. I remember only because of how out of left field it was.

I know exactly how old you are, lol.

I like Levy a lot and I thought the storylines were fairly compelling. The cast was overall solid. (Skyler Astin will NEVER read as straight for me though.)

But the music just never worked at ALL. Weak song choices, poorly sung even WITH a shit-ton of autotune, and the entire concept does nothing for the main character.

I’m with you on this. I will say with regards to your third point, I don’t think they were dubbed. Only because of how godawful Lauren Graham was. Her then later having to sing a duet with Renee Elise Goldsberry was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever witnessed.

Well, the movie they are referencing came out in 2011, when most millennials were either still young adults or teens. More importantly, gen Z would have been children then, not the target demo. I don’t think he was saying anything about John Cusack himself.

Yes, kids (which I assume you define as anyone even slightly younger than yourself) are really incapable of understanding subtle humor these days. Or, uh, obvious humor. Also, “deferential”?

I’m still so mad that Spotify doesn’t have all of the songs from the album this is from. Saturday Morning Cartoons was played all the time in my household as a kid.

I’m pretty sure this is how The Borg originates.

The irony of you saying that he doesn’t deserve death while in the same sentence acknowledging the innocent people he is putting in danger just to fulfill a pointless whim is honestly breathtaking.

What an excellent piece!!!
