Haven't a read the article yet, but will…But Why has that turned you off? Do you feel like it's sort of a cop out for the show to not address race?
Like in a "dystopias can be 2 things" sort of way?

THIS!

I don't think it's a silly complaint. I think its supposed to be confusing. I hate to be one of those "in the book" people, but I am going to be now.
"in the book" and maybe in ep 2 or 3 when Offred describes the events that led to…all of this there were a lot of citizens confused about which "army" was there and who

DAYUM. I read the novel for the first time when I was 13 maybe and it scared the hell out of me. And I reread nearly every year, most recently with @avclub-c2f1c4ca8c389f37c0d3c838bb27ef25:disqus and @sallgood_man:disqus and some other people from around these parts for an occasional on line book club thing. I'm in my

JESUS. Please don't tell me Atwood's statement is rhetorical or neurotic. I…no, never mind. Read a book or 5 and, frankly, no one cares about your penis in this discussion. Its NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK, its about what other people think.

Im so sorry you're depressed.
Tell me about what is wrong in your life

and don't make an argument about the book if you haven't fucking read it.

I think you need to take YOUR meds.

And really what is your argument here? Are you saying that because it's easier now-a-days for women we should be grateful and STFU?
How are you feeling about your life? SHould you be grateful and STFU? Have you been oppressed by women?

Let's say you're correct in that women are better off now than 5. 10, 50 years ago.
It's still not good enough.
Allow me to quote Margaret Atwood, the author of the book:
"Men are afraid women will laugh at them.
Women are afraid men will kill them."

Pim Pim PIs
Pimus Pistus Pants.
Schoolboys are HILARIOUS.

I hear that. I am really curious to see how the show addresses that.

I recommend reading the book - either before or after watching the show. The novel has a very definite end, and I understand the show will make some significant departures from the book, but I'm really curious. As someone who is very familiar with the novel, I am really interested about how the show expands that world.

I read it at about the same age, it was my mom's copy and had nightmares. But it was a really great novel, and I have revisted it 10 or 12 times and the older I get, the more "real" it seems. But the familiarity of it makes it less scary, and thats a thing.
I think that the prose style that Atwood uses, and the framing

"please don't suck…please don't suck….

And i think casting Samira Wiley as Moira is great choice, and I noticed Offred's husband is a black man, therefore her daughter is biracial, which is different from the book…l And i wonder how the show will differ from the books with respect to race and sexuality… I can't glean much from the trailers. It's going

I read somewhere that the writers and producers aren't going to end it the same way as the book, and they have plans for further seasons. I'm not sure how reliable that is.
It looks like a good adaptation, though.

Who were the people in the car in the lab parking lot? I presume they were of Directorite S agents. AM I mistaken in rembering there were 2 people and when P & came out with the body there was one?

I cried.
Prediction: Rebecca's out of control spending will haunt her in Season 3.

FUn fact: The brand of fake cigarettes smoked on the set of Mad Men was called XXstacy.
