Actually no she doesn’t. She has a face mold called the Sonali face mold which was made specifically for an east Indian doll years ago.

My mom promised to get me Molly for my 10th birthday because I did all of that stuff I wrote in my first post. We drove to Chicago to celebrate my birthday/go to Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse/go to the American Girl Store. I had my Molly with birthday dress all picked out, then she saw the price tag went “oh fuck that”…
My parents never bought me a doll, but then bought one for my younger sister. I will never forgive them.
I’m glad they’re putting out a black doll with a lighter backstory, really. Addy was compelling, but her story was incredibly dark, comparatively. Molly had to deal with her brother ruining her Halloween costume. I seem to remember Samantha having some kind of a problem with ice cream. Addy fled slavery and got hunted…
The magazine is still great. My daughter gets so excited the day it arrives in the mail.
I’m not generally a fan of American Girl (I just find the dolls kind of creepy, though I don’t really have a rational reason for it). But that is a RIDICULOUSLY cute doll.
