There’s also the matter of international markets- there are some stars that might have so-so performing movies here in the US but clean up overseas. Stars like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt come to mind. If the studio is going to make a big movie, they need to figure in whether it will appeal to those audiences.

It sort of looks like they were all shot in different places/times, and then the photos were komposited together. It makes sense that they’d do that; getting all of them together must be like herding kats.
