I’m convinced you step outside of any major metro area in the US and it quickly turns into Alabama and Mississippi.

“Interfering with a police officer” and “resisting arrest” are the blanket “I’m gonna charge you with SOMETHING” laws these jackboots fall back on because they can mean damn near anything.

Step outside Portland and Oregon rapidly turns into Alabama.

They definitely don’t.  I cannot help but think of Minnesota Police Officer Mohamed Noor. Startled by a loud noise thinking they were being ambushed he and his white male partner drew their guns.

And that’s a damned good point. I’d ask “Why are we rewarding ineptitude?” I mean, just because you failed to kill someone does not mean the intent and actions weren’t there. And then I remember our current presidential situation and roll my eyes.

13 shots is definitely attempted murder, but that charge should hold the same weight as murder. I’ve never understood why attempted murder has lesser penalties than murder just because the perpetrator didn’t succeed in their efforts. They obviously feel no remorse for shooting at unarmed civilians, maybe we should heckle the shit out of them for being such bad shots they couldn’t even hit their target (thankfully).  Maybe that will impact these trigger happy cops, because compassion and guilt are foreign to them.

While I am glad that he is being put thru the justice system, the cynic in me wonders if the only reason he was charged is because he is black....my point...I feel like white officers never get charged for the same actions.

If you shoot at someone, that’s not just assault, mother****ers. That’s attempted murder. If that’s not on the list of charges, no matter what the outcome, this will still be a miscarriage of justice.

“Both victims and both officers are black.”

So that I’m clear when it comes to unarmed Black children acting out in class then Slave Catchers feel the need to put their hands on the kids but when these damn school shooters shoot up a school then the cops feel the need to hide and duck for cover.

Well heck, if they press charges, he wouldn’t be able to go to the next police department up the street and get a job.   We can’t have that happening, right?  Right?
