First, they have a huge advantage with the supercharger network. Anyone interested in an EV as their sole car (and assuming they intend to use it for long distance drives) doesn’t have many good options other than Tesla. Maybe that will change once other automakers piggyback on the NACs charging standard. I get that

Just guessing, but buyers may not exactly care about styling updates in EV space. They might also be choosing to ignore the CEO’s antics. They may see cars as a way to get from place A to place B. It’s the only real option if you want decent range with a fairly robust charging network. The 3 and the Y aren’t super

Most people with any sense are busy working for a living. People have got to stop sending money to grifters like well, the entire Republican party in the USA. They’re in the same boat as these Qanon grifters.

Been in Florida for 43 years.  Up until a few years ago, I would not have considered moving anywhere else.  Now?  I hate this state and want to get as far away from it as I can.

The shift from arts to athletics is telling. Physical prowess encouraged, mental acuity discouraged. Athletics are fine, but with the burning of the books and all the other stuff... I mean let’s call it what it is.

That’s our petulant little meatball in action. Florida right now is like 1930s Germany with theme parks. I’ve lived here for nearly 40 years. I can’t wait to get the fuck out.

When EVs fully replace ICE in the next 2 to 3 generations, I wonder if those generations will wonder how ridiculous our generation was driving around with loud, smoke-producing machines (assuming our generation is still alive when that happens).  The only ones at that point who’ll like ICE will probably be fetishists.

Amen - the vast majority of cars people buy to commute are appliances. Sure, they may be appliances with the odd bit of lifestyle-accessorizing (those oh-so-outdoorsy looking CUV flourishes that have taken over where rear spoilers on 90s FWD Corollas left off...), but they’re appliances. And appliances, to an

The other big environmental thing is that EVs are much more environmentally friendly day one from the lack of particulate pollution. This will be huge for local air quality. It will probably lead to a big reduction in asthma cases, and switching to TVs will save thousands of lives a year from a lack of tailpipe

Counterpoint: everything needs to just shut the fuck up and silence is dramatically underrated.

Don’t forget that FCVs aren’t just more complex EVs, they’re waaaaaay less efficient at making the car move than EVs too.

Ever since Top Gear did that moronic segment years ago on why hydrogen makes the most sense for road cars, certain car people have never been able to let it go. FCVs are literally just electric cars with more complexity that you still have to take to a filling station.

“Ask any Tesla owner if they have a second car, and if it’s a Tesla,” he directed me. “Ask what they take on road trips.”

Tesla owner here. Second car is a 4Runner, but the road trip car is the Tesla. 4Runner is being replaced with an R1S hopefully later this year.

More like “Karen, look!  There’s one empty spot at the libertard vehicle chargers.  Let’s park there so they can’t use it and we’ll be owning the libs.”

IMHO it’s pretty wild to assume that Tesla’s, or even EVs in general, are bought by MAGA folks. I’d argue that those generally on the far-right are anti-EV.

That would require a combination of foresight, planning, empathy and money that sadly no longer exists in America.

Conservative thinking usually goes, “Once you’re outside the womb, you’re on your own.”

Toyota: EV charging infrastructure is lacking

At this point it is not about overall carbon reduction. Rather, its that pretty soon, consumers are gonna all want pure EVs. In totality, the entire car experience is just better with an EV, carbon emissions aside. The public is waking up to that.

I’ve been driving an EV for 6 years, and a hybrid before that. Toyota
