I half-agree with you. I’ve seen the separate bike “highways” (for lack of a better word) in Minneapolis and they’re fantastic. Others as well - Charlotte, for example. So I certainly wouldn’t disagree with building separate bike infrastructure.

I don’t want to take away anyone’s life. I just don’t want to get hit by cars when I’m riding my bike because I like the exercise.

$100 fine is painful, but the inconvenience of tow really drives the message. The moment you need a ride or Uber all the way across town to get your car because it’s been towed treats an inconvenience with an inconvenience.

$100 is cheap enough to bait a bunch of diesel bros who want to attention to got park and get fined so they can post it on their social.

The fine is…fine, but throw in some “towed at the owner’s expense” and you’re getting somewhere. I’m guessing that $100 might not be that big of a deal to some, but the hassle of dealing with a towing company would be. Plus, it could free up that EV parking spot quicker.

Math adds up. $100 for illegal parking, $900 for deliberate douche asshat behavior.

Depends on where you live and your lifestyle. I am in California and I do road trip occasionally with no towing and I have abundant charging options for the places I regularly travel. If you cannot charge at home, live in a really cold environment or regularly travel to places that chargers are not placed then go PHEV…

You can do that here in Pennsylvania too. Ride on red law.
