Eh, I think there are health issues/diseases/disorders that can cause a woman to look pregnant when she really isn't. Not normal bloat, but like very large stomachs...Anyway, nobody wants a health problem pointed out to them, especially by strangers.

I'm a descendant of slaves, and while I wouldn't have a wedding at a plantation, mainly because I don't like the south and wouldn't want my wedding to take place there, I would attend someone else's wedding at a plantation. And I can see some of my friends who also descend from slaves having a wedding at one.

I agree. I'm a black American from the south, and the only way I'd be offended by an invitation to a wedding set at a plantation is if there were racial overtones. But if it's just, hey look at this beautifully preserved historical location, it's a non-issue.

Several black women tell me this (I'm black as well) and it confuses me because I've always been approached by men of different races. I've also known other black women with a similar experience to mine. It's a bit intriguing to me. The only commonality I've noticed with AA women who had a similar experience to mine…
