this service is not targeted at people that work out at the Y

But in the testimony it was also revealed that a friend who was a nurse told them it was probably meningitis. That’s one of those run don’t walk to the emergency room situations.

I guess I’ll never understand how FOIA can supercede HIPAA. Isn’t his cause of death a medical issue that shouldn’t be made public without consent? Yeah, he’s a public figure, but even if he had an addiction problem, it’s none of our fucking business. A tragic loss, I’m devastated, but please let the man rest in

There was a heartwarming little chuckle that went around the room when the sherrif couldn’t be certain what kind of clothes he had on. That made me feel good, actually. It was Prince, after all, and he made his own rules.

“Now, the key, DJ, is to make it look like you’re not wearing makeup at all”.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but we don’t need to be constantly comparing students, particularly with a norm-based test, instead of a standards-based test. It is set up to fail a certain subset of students along the bell curve (how many depends on the wants of the politicians who paid for the test- cut scores are set

1- We know what works. More money, mainly for better facilities and support programs and, to a certain extent, class size. Different places have different support programs, and some ideas are *really* cool, and those should be shared! We don’t need test scores to do this!

And my point is that in making testing the only metric that matters the schools cease to do the one thing that they are supposed to do.

That sequence has to be one of the most gorgeous in any film ever, let alone any animated film.

PREACH!

What was on the exam? Oh wait, you probably can’t say.....

“A Rumor In St. Petersburg” really, really wants to be “Belle” (Little Town). But while the latter was brilliant, the former is totally forgettable.

Yeah, it’s a Don Bluth film. Thankyouverymuch.

I think you are right. The reference to “when I took tests”, etc. Great. To say times have changed is an understatement.

Merit pay for standardized test grades also encourages cheating. I’m not against it (the cheating), if failing a test means that struggling students get even less funding. Underfunding schools with bad outcomes doesn’t even make any sense.

Now playing

Given the current political climate, it seems that anything left of far right is “unpopular” opinion.

I said this on another thread, but some zoos do actually help and protect animals. I’m actually not the biggest zoo fan, but hearing of the work the San Diego Zoo and others have done has changed my mind a bit. These tigers are dying out and a lot of zoos have gone into the “business” of cultivation and sustainability

Because it’s not the teacher’s union’s responsbility to decide guilt or innocence; it is their job to provide representation, period, (just like lawyers don’t decide guilt or innocence, but to represent their client) and the school district’s job to prove wrongdoing.
